Spellbinders Season Wreath Foliage from the Texture & Foliage Collection

Today I'm using the Spellbinders Seasonal Wreath from the Texture & Foliage Collection by Suzanne Hue. You can see the entire collection HERE

The collection is meant to be used year round but I chose to make a Christmas card, I just love a silver and gold wreath. There's other foliage that can be used year round, check it out by looking at the photo under my supplies.

My card is fairly simple today, I used navy cardstock and foiled the sentiment in gold Glimmer hot foil. If you don't have a Glimmer machine you could always stamp a sentiment and use gold ink or gold heat emboss it.

I cut the foliage from silver and gold cardstock scraps, probably old cardstock from Michaels. I like the matte gold and silver.

I included a picture of a second card I made that I'll share more about tomorrow.

Supplies are listed below with direct links to the stores that carry them. If you use my link to make a purchase, I receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. Thank you for using my links, it really helps and encourages me to continue providing creative content.

Spellbinders Christmas Cracker from the City Holiday Collection

I love the big diecuts. The small diecuts for scenes are fun but often have tiny pieces and my eyes are on the older side:)

If you are familiar with Yana Smakula, she has an elegant, clean style. Yana designed this collection for Spellbinders, it's called City Holiday Collection and you can see it HERE.

I recently made the apartment building, you can see my blog post for that one HERE.

I love this card. I have a few more cards to share soon!

For the Christmas Crackers, I used some glitter cardstock, the antique white one is from Spellbinders. The red is a scrap from an old pack of Christmas papers. I used my fingers to give them a little shape, glued down the red one and popped the white one with some foam tape. I used all the greenery dies and the sentiment die that's included in the set. Once again, I'll say I'm always happy when there's a sentiment included. No hunting for something!

The background is blue cardstock and the Country Christmas 3D embossing folder.

That's it for today, thank you for visiting.

Supplies are listed below with direct links to the stores that carry them. If you use my link to make a purchase, I receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. This really helps me continue providing information. Thank you.

Special Specialty Paper from Your Paper Insider

Sometimes I go through my craft supplies and use a beautiful oldie. This is the Altenew Sulfur Cosmos. The package has 2022 printed on the back. When I first started crafting with dies I would buy one and promise to use it no less than 5 (gulp) different ways. Sometimes it just meant a different color or a different kind of card or a tag, but 5x. Why 5? Because most diesets then cost around $25 and I figured $5 was about the price of a store bought card. In my mind I couldn't have one card cost me $25! So $25/5 meant the cards cost $5 each. Reasonable.

Fast forward to today. Many of my diesets are used just once! But those are the samples I get from different companies. The ones I purchase I force myself to use at least 2 times. LOL. There's just not enough hours in the day to do everything I want to do.

The one thing I really feel is worth it is the Your Paper Insider subscription box. There aren't any craft supply stores near me that have beautiful papers by the sheet anymore. To have a box delivered to my house means I always have a specialty paper shop in my craftroom! I keep these boxes separate from my regular paper, even the scraps. And having this box means I can usually find something to elevate my papercrafts. The current box has 27 different papers and costs $29.95, shipping is INCLUDED in this price. You can subscribe and get 4 boxes a year (1 per season), or wait to see if a current box is still available later at a slightly higher price. Why wait? You can cancel at anytime.

The paper I used for this card is called Yuzenshi Paper. The description sheet in Box 12  says, "Yuzenshi refers to a traditional Jappanese paper that is typically machine made but crafted to resemble handmade washi." You should feel this paper. It has a luxurious hand and a beautiful gold print on it.

Here is another card I made using a different sheet of Yuzenshi paper in the same box. You can see my blog post/video HERE.

For the Sulphur Cosmos, I used a piece of light purple cardstock and inked the edges with Villainous Potion Distress Oxide ink. The Altenew Craft a Flowers come with keyholes that are on the dies so the layers can be easily lined up. Gorgeous, right?

That's it for today. Thank you for visiting. Listed below are my links. If you use one of my links to make a purchase, I receive a small commission at no extra charge to you. This will help me continue providing content, thank you.

New Paper Source Supplies for the Start of the School Year for ME!

I've had this pretty green journal from Paper Source for more than a minute. I filled 1 page then quit because it's intimidating. Filled with empty lines. I'm not a writer but I finally figured out that a lined journal isn't just for writing.

So I decided to make my own "yearbook" and fill it with whatever strikes me. Mostly some kind of art, maybe a quote, maybe some recipes. Whatever the day brings. Here's my quick video of what today brought me:

I used the William Morris Gift and Creative Papers. It's a book of beautiful printed paper, wrapping paper weight but I used wrapping paper for cards sometimes. So I decided it would make a lovely background. The sheets are folded into quarters and bound in the book with a perforated edge so they can be removed.

The book also has some information on William Morris. He was a 19th century home decorative designer. He designed textiles, wallpaper, tapestries, etc. I just love the look of the papers in this book.

I used Spellbinders Layered Gladiolus for my diecuts, I used paper that matched the patterned paper. I cut a piece of vellum with the Perfect Touch Rectangles just so the tag would stand out from the background.

Supplies are listed below, with clickable links. Using my links to make a purchase helps me to continue my journey. Thank you for your support.

Spellbinders 13 Days of Craftoween

Below is my unboxing of the 1st Day of the 13 Days of Craftoween Advent Calendar. It's the first year Spellbinders offered this, it was extremely popular and sold out quickly.

There may be some still available at independent retailers but is sold out at Spellbinders, Scrapbookcom and Simon Says Stamp.

Unfortunately, the 13 Days of Craftoween is sold out in the US. I will still be sharing my daily calendar.

Thanks for visiting!

Autumn Archives Collection by Kelly Bangs

This month the new collection from Kelly Bangs is called Autumn Archives. The diecutting pieces are based on the coordination scrapbooking pieces. You can see the entire collection HERE. Many of the paper pieces are sold out but I have the diecutting pieces, which I used for cards. I can easily see how they can be used for scrapbooking or journaling.

I had made this background with some old Color Burst Powders I had. Color Burst Powders are fine dry powders that you can sprinkle on paper and with water, they become watercolors. I have the Ken Oliver set called Earthtones, I bought them several years ago and rarely use them. I sprinkled some on watercolor paper and then misted them with water. Not my favorite medium, I always put too much on and end up with a mess. This time I used a bit less. I ended up with an, eh, background that I diecut for the Changing Trees dieset. It looked pretty good. Diecut those less than stellar backgrounds!

I cut some scrap blue cardstock with the Perfect Touch Rectangles dieset. I thought the trees looked more grounded in small frames. The sentiment is from the same collection, I Glimmer hot foiled it in Copper hot foil. The background is called Dimpled embossing folder from the Texture & Foliage. The embossing folder leaves a very cool look.

Supplies are listed below with direct links to the stores that carry them. If you use my link to make a purchase, I receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. Thank you for using my links, it really helps and encourages me to continue providing creative content.

Spellbinders Essential Stars from the All About Christmas Collection

Today I'm using the Spellbinders Essential Stars from the All About Christmas Collection by Lisa Horton. You can see the entire collection HERE. There's a lot of fun images in this collection, I've already made 2 other cards that I have blog posts for if you're interested in more ideas:

My Essential Stars card started out as just cutting the stars out of glitter cardstock. I have several boxes from Your Paper Insider. I often go to these boxes for inspiration. There are several sheets of glitter cardstock in these boxes so I just pulled out this purple shade.

The stars are nesting dies, so you can use them as solid stars or cut two together and make a star frame. I made all solid stars, and after I cut one from the purple cardstock I though it would look good to place the gold star underneath the cutout. Then I thought I should layer the smaller stars on top.

The sentiments are from the same collection. I used a scrap of mulicolored glitter cardstock to cut the Christmas diecut.

Supplies are listed below with direct links to the stores that carry them. If you use my link to make a purchase, I receive a small commission at no additional cost to you.
