It's another cold day here but there's light at the end of the tunnel when Spring/Easter products are released!
Today I'm using Spellbinders Happy Spring by Simon Hurley. You can see the entire collection by clicking HERE. There's the adorable Bunny Buddies dieset, the gorgeous Bloom Egg dieset, the Ornate Eggs 3D embossing folder and the Layered Ornate Eggs stencil. I didn't receive the embossing folder or stencil but it's so cute, I have a pic of them in my supply list. There's also the cutest dieset called Spring Chicks only available at Scrapbookcom. I linked it below under the supply list.
My first card is with the gorgeous egg dieset. It's a 2 piece set (egg outline and egg with floral cutouts), here I've placed it on a 5 x 6.5" card. It would fit on an A2 size card but it would take up just about the entire card. I thought it looked better with a bit of space around it.
Sometimes I like quick inking, especially when so little of the color is going to show through. With the egg die, just the negative space shows through. I put Wilted Violet and Salvage Patina Distress Oxide ink pads on a gel plate, smoothed out the color using a brayer and pulled the print onto white paper. I used the egg outline to cut it out.
I took another piece of white cardstock and cut out the floral egg shape.
I took the flowers diecuts and quickly blended Spun Sugar Distress Oxide on them, leaving the centers white. I glued them back into the negative space.
The white panel background is embossed with the February 3D Embossing Folder of the Month, Shady Leaves. You can read more about Spellbinders Club Kits HERE. They have been very popular since they updated the kits, especially the Crate, which is all the clubs plus additional exclusive to the crate products.
I inked the edge of the mat with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide ink so it would match the ink on the egg.
The sentiment is from the Bunny Buddies dieset which I use on my next card.

While the first dieset was elegant, this one is so cute! I used everything in the dieset for my card except for the basket die and the second sentiment which is "Happy Spring".
Most of the pieces are cut from scrap inked papers. The background is watercolor paper and Distress Paints. I made a video a long time ago on how I painted this which you can see HERE, if you're interested. Colors are listed below under supplies.
Supplies are listed below with direct links to the stores that carry them (where they were in stock at the time of this writing). If you use my link to make a purchase, I receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. This really helps me continue providing content. Thank you.
