Are you familiar with Spellbinders Dancin dies? The leg dies have a circle cut out (at the waist) that acts as a pendulum and lets the legs swing back and forth. I used 2 foam dots stacked to hang the legs on and attach to the back of their shirts. Before removing the release paper, use your anti-static bag to powder/remove some of the stick on the sides of the foam dots. After that, remove the release paper to attach the foam dots to the card and the back of the character's shirt. The legs will move freely.
The "Dancin Moose" was the only one I just adhered to the card, I didn't make the swinging legs on this one. I had already made the background, navy cardstock with a 3D embossing folder. I ran a silver embossing pad over the raised areas. I liked how it looked but then realized that the raised areas didn't allow the legs to swing freely and it was hard to adhere the foam pop dots to the bumpy background. The point is, you don't always have to make the legs swing!

The "Dancin Nutcracker Fitz" also comes with a drum dieset and a staff. I didn't use either of these but they are both good looking. This nutcracker is really a beautiful piece. Look at all the details! I have to say that there are a lot of pieces to this one but I think it's worth it.
The background is metallic silver paper (from Michaels) that I embossed with a BetterPress press plate. That took a bit of doing, it's not really made for that and had to use a bunch of shims and an embossing pad (DON'T use with you BetterPress system!) I used it with the regular diecutting platform.
The "Dancin Gnome" was pretty easy to put together. I used regular cardstock and some pretty blue glitter cardstock scraps I had. The background is made from an inked embossing folder which pushed the silver metallic ink into the recessed areas.
