Simon Says Stamp has a new release today called, "Festive Fun". You can see the entire collection by clicking HERE.
I received the lovely "Poinsettia Swag" stamp set. I am not a great colorist, which is why I love diecutting and embossing folders. So I stamped, gold heat embossed the image and colored it with Copic markers and added colored pencil accents.
The swag seemed to need some kind of window or shape to highlight. I diecut 2 ovals and fussy cut the stamp to put on top. It looked like it needed more leaves. So I stamped, heat embossed, colored and fussy cut another one. It looked pretty good. Note: there is a matching dieset to cut out this set, I don't have it, but it's linked below.)
I embossed a white panel with the Holly Branch embossing folder and placed the whole thing on top. For the sentiment, I diecut the "joyful" and then stamped the "Merry and Bright" sentiment from the stamp set. I left off the "may you days be" part of the sentiment.
I am going to try just regular stamping (no fussy cutting and no dimension) for this set. I've seen the other samples on the SSS website and they look good!
