Susanbcards: Simon Says Stamp DieCember GWP Tim Holtz's Be of Good Cheer Dieset

It's Simon Says Stamps' DieCember, when they celebrate all things dies! They are offering a limited edition Tim Holtz "Be of Good Cheer" dieset as a gift with a $25 Tim Holtz purchase. Here's a photo of what the dieset includes:

It's the Santa and Snowman heads plus the little snowflake (?) dies. I think those little pieces can add such a pretty highlight. I cut them from white glitter paper for both cards but they would look good in metallic cardstock too. Some Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Heavy Cardstock and Distress Spray Stains.

For my Santa card, I sprayed Distress Spray Stains, Oxides and Mica. The colors are all mixed together but I tipped the paper so that the darkest color would settle to the bottom of the paper. I used Speckled Egg Oxide first, then went darker to Salty Ocean and Faded Jeans in regular Distress Spray Stains. I added some Distress Spritz in Unchartered Mariner. The Distress Mica Stain is in Snow Flurries. I added water and it all kind of blended on its own. I dried it with a heat tool then went back and did a few quick spritzs of the Faded Jeans Distress Spray Stain for some little specks of dark color.

The leaves and are from the Festive Gatherings dieset, a bit older set. The sentiment from "Vault Holiday Classic".Everything else is cut from pre inked papers, just scraps I had on hand, all Distress Sprays.

The white Glitter paper is from Michaels. I added a bit of Distress Rock Candy and Distress Mica Flakes with Glossy Accents to look like ice and snow. I used a Scrapbookcom White Luster Pen for the spatters.

For my Snowman card, I used Salvaged Patina Distress Spray Stain and water for a bit of uneven color application. After it was dry, I took Picket Fence Distress Spray and removed the nozzle and drops of it on the paper, added just a few mists of water and dried it.

I put together the Vault Festive Wreath with more of my scraps. I cut the Joy from kraft cardstock and cut it out to look like a wooden sign. This dieset is called Christmas Cutouts. I cut it again from black and pieced the letters back into the sign. I took a mini ink pad in Gathered Twigs and lightly made some horizontal lines over the kraft cardstock to mimic woodgrain.

I used the same white glitter paper to cut the snowman and the snowflakes. I added some Distress Mica Flakes and Distress Rock Candy with Glossy Accents again, then spattered the white pen.
