Susanbcards: Spellbinders Jack of All Trades Collection

When I saw the Spellbinders Jack of All Trades Collection, I knew I wanted to create with it. We're always looking for masculine (greeting) card ideas and I thought this collection could fit the bill. Below is a photo of the entire collection, you can also see it HERE.

For my first cards, I decided to use the "Reversible Royal Court" dies with the Deluxe Deck Press Plates. The BetterPress plates look like the design on the back of a playing card, so elegant. I decided to Glimmer Hot Foil the press plate, just because I wanted a shiny gold metallic foil.

I used blue and red metallic cardstock (Michaels Recollection brand) I had this from a few years ago, but Michaels always has packs of metallic cardstock, colors may vary.

The foiling was pretty clean, I was able to easily reverse foil the leftover hot foil, using a solid hot foil plate, 2 card fronts from 1 piece of foil.

The Reversible Royal Court dieset is pretty straight forward. I organized the pieces, separating the men's pieces from the women's pieces. I decided to make 2 of each, and puttin one upside down the way a playing card looks.

These would make cute Valentine's Day cards writing your own sentiment, King (or Queen) of my heart. I didn't add a sentiment to the front of the card, I thought it was busy enough, but any one of the sentiment strips could be used on the inside of the card. I think the banner die included in the sentiment set would look great inside the card, a bit different to use another die inside the card.

I used pink shimmer paper and a some pink glitter paper for the queen's dress.

I used blue metallic paper and blue glitter paper for the king's clothes and scrap from my stash for the rest.
