Ink blending on a Gelli Plate is one of the easiest ways to get a smooth blend. Just drag the ink pads Salvaged Patina, Antique Linen and Saltwater Taffy Distress Ink) onto the Gel Plate, use a few quick strokes of a brayer to blend the inks, that's it! I then pressed the Spellbinders 3D Embossing Folder of the Month onto the Gel Plate and embossed a white piece of cardstock with it. For a 2nd panel, I used another piece of white cardstock and pressed it on the Gel Plate and pulled the print. I have a video below showing the process.
I chose my colors using the new "Holiday DIY Color Deck Expansion Pack". The original Color Deck came out a few months ago, click HERE to see it. Spellbinders has put together some cards that show colors that work well together in a print you can choose which colors to use. The card has an area where you can cut some squares showing your color story. It can be made using cardstock or ink, or even embroidery thread!
I created a shaped card by taking a folded A2 card and the shaped die (without the stitching die) and partially diecut the card by placing the top diecutting plate over the card but not up to the fold of the card. This way the die cuts the paper but not keeps the card intact.
I diecut the pulled print with the outline die again and then adhered it to the card. For the stitched diecut, I taped together the outline die and the stitching die and ran a piece of 110 lb cardstock through my Big Shot. I like a sturdy piece to stitch. I have so many embroidery threads, I happen to have 3 that matched my inked panel.
This panel was inked 2x. I attached some snowflakes from the Large Die of the Month cut from the Treasured Cardstock, glitter paper. The sentiment is an old one but always good Glimmer hot foiled in silver.
