Simon Says Stamp Christmas Angels Card in Pink and Gold

A few weeks ago, I used Simon Says Stamps' Christmas Angels embossing folder. The first card is embossed acetate with gold acrylic paint, my second card is embossed vellum over an ink blended panel. I have a YouTube tutorial video here:

As I made the video, I needed to remake the acetate painted panel, so I had an extra panel. I liked how it looked on a pink blended panel, so I made a 3rd version, I used Distress Oxide Inks in Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo, Picked Raspberry and a bit of Aged Mahogany at the bottom.

One of my favorite things to create with is embossing folders. There's so much you can do with them to make a card look unique.

Acetate is easy to emboss. The one I used is from an assorted paper box from Your Paper Insider, but I have also used some from We R Memory Keepers which comes in a 12x12 pad, it's very thin and can be run through a diecutting machine with whatever sandwich you would normally use for a piece of paper in an embossing folder. I use a Sizzix Big Shot, so my sandwich is the platform, the folder with acetate and one top plate. The acetate is cut to the size of the embossing folder (not just the design), in this case about 4.5x6.5". This will leave a border around the image which I score and burnish to fit the panel on the top and bottom. It should be longer than the panel, that way I can fold it over to fit the panel after I paint it.

After the acetate is embossed, I flip it over to the debossed side. The areas that are inverted, or have tiny wells are where I place the acrylic paint. I used inexpensive gold acrylic paint from Hobby Lobby. The gold is a brassy gold, a bit antiqued. The bottle I have is a few years old, Anita's Metallic Craft Paint by Rustoleum in Antique Gold.
I use a thin brush, mine is by Altenew and has a fine point to be able to reach into the tiny lines and wells. I apply 2-3 coats letting it fully dry between coats. After it's fully dry, I will adhere it to the base.

The blue card is Distress Spray Stains in Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers on watercolor paper. I also sprayed a bit of Distress Mica Stain in Snow Flurries and Distress Spray Stain in Faded Jeans in a few spots.
Score the top and bottom of the acetate to fit the panel, folding it behind the panel and attaching it with red line tape to the back. Trim the sides of the acetate with a guillotine trimmer or scissors to fit the panel. Attach this to a card front.

For my second card, I embossed a piece of vellum. My vellum is heavyweight. I ink blended 3 shades of Distress Oxide ink onto the panel, Picked RaspberryFossilized Amber and Broken China.

That's it for today! Thank you for visiting.

Tim Holtz/Sizzix Snowflake Rosette

It's Simon Says Stamp's Diecember. They are offering the Snowflake Rosette dieset as a gift with a $30 Tim Holtz purchase. This is only available while supplies last. You can see the details HERE

I used gold wrapping paper to make the rosette, I feel like it's easier to fold. You have to cut the rosette 3x to get the size rosette I made. The center of my snowflake has the old Impresslit called Radiant. It's discontinued. You can put anything in the center, there is a snowflake die included. I have also seen people put gems or glitter in the center.

The background is old patterned cardstock I've had for several years.

That's it for today. Here's a link to Simon Says Stamp.

A Merry Little Christmas with Sizzix Products!

I love the Sizzix Mini Christmas Things by Tim Holtz. When I saw the Sizzix Special Delivery by 49 and Market, I knew I wanted to put them together. I finally had a bit of time. Isn't it cute together?

The background is my regular dip and dry Distress inks on watercolor paper. It's mostly Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide and some dips of Distress Prize Ribbon and Salty Ocean.

The rest is inked up scraps, all with Distress Inks. The snowflakes are glitter cardstock, sorry I'm not sure which one it is, I have so many scraps!

Here's another card I made just using the Special Delivery set you can find my post by clicking  HERE.

Merry & Bright Scrapbookcom Deer

How fun is this Scrapbookcom Deer? He comes with a bunch of dies to make ornaments and lights to decorate his antlers. Take a look under supplies to see the dieset.

This is a 5.5"x 5.5" square card. I embossed the white panel with the Spellbinders Country Christmas 3D embossing folder. The sentiment is also from Spellbinders Merry Sentiments stamp/die.

I used scraps to make the reindeer, his shirt is a piece of patterned paper. The sunglasses are cut 2x, once from glossy black cardstock, the second time from a scrap of alcohol inked paper, I just used the black frame and the alcohol ink lenses.

For the lights, the lightbulb die cuts 3 at a time, but had to run it through for each color. I glued them onto the string and then used Glossy Accents to make it dimensional and shiny.

Pretty easy and cute!

December 2025 Your Paper Insider Design Team Instagram Hop

Today I'm taking part in the December Your Paper Insider Design Team Instagram Hop!

We're using papers from Box 13 of their subscription service.
Your Paper Insider has a subscription service which sends a box of assorted specialty papers 4x a year, for $29.95 shipping is INCLUDED. Learn more HERE.

I used the Muzenshi paper from Box 13. It's a Japanese decorative paper, made from high quality kozo fibers. It's lightweight with a pretty texture. The gold paper was a scrap I had that was cut with a square stitched die.

Staying with the Japanese theme, I decided to forgo a diecut for this card, I made an origami crane. Japanesse folklore says that if you make 1000 cranes you will get your wish. I thought one was perfect for a birthday card.

The sentiment is from Spellbinders, gold Glimmer hot foiled on white paper. I have a bunch of sentiments cut and ready to use.

Here's a quick video so you can see what is in Box 13:

That's it for today, thank you for visiting!

Spellbinders December 2025 Club Kits!

Today I'm sharing some of the Spellbinders December 2025 Club Kits. We're done with new Christmas/Holiday releases and we're moving on!

You can learn more about the Spellbinders Clubs and the benefits of membership by clicking HERE. I used the BetterPress, the Glimmer Plate, the 3D Embossing Folder, and the Large Die of the Month Clubs. Here is a video tutorial of how I made these cards:

This  card uses the 3D Embossing Folder, it has locks and keys and hearts all over it. I ink blended a piece of white cardstock with Distress Oxide inks in Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo, Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry and Lumberjack Plaid before embossing it. I attached it to a A2 white card.

Next I diecut the Large Die, Wrapped with Care. I diecut a piece of textured white fun foam. I believe it's supposed to look like snow but it also looks like terrycloth. I've had this for probably 10 years, I think it's from Michael's. These sheets are sold individually and probably cost less than $2.

The robe is cut from a leftover piece of Your Paper Insider Paper's Box 10. It's called Bay Blue Velveteen Felt Paper. Unfortunately Box 10 is sold out. I love having a box of specialty paper on hand for my cards, this elevated my card. You could use a piece of regular cardstock or patterned cardstock or even felt for the robe.

The flowers on the towel are cut from wool felt scraps I have in my stash. Wool felt diecuts pretty easily. I tried using acrylic felt from Michaels and that wouldn't cut very well. Wool felt is the way to go.
The sentiment is from the Glimmer hot foil club kit, one of two sentiments in the kit.

My next card uses the Glimmer Club Kit, this gorgeous background. The kit includes the hot pink foil. The best color! I used another of the sentiments included in this kit.

The Large Die uses almost the same products as the previous card, except I used the eyelashes rather than the cucumbers.

My final card uses the BetterPress Plate Kit, this lovely heart and includes a sentiment plate with several sentiments on it, plus a die to cut them all out. I love this sentiment, "You're the one I want to annoy forever". LOL.

I used Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide inks on the plate, and a blending brush to soften the color transition. I used BetterPress paper for this card, it's takes the ink nicely. This was the easiest card to make today, plus Distress inks wipe off the plate easily with water and a towel.

That's it for today!
