Definitely my favorite Halloween card this year! I ink blending Distress Oxides on Distress Mixed Media Heavystock. This paper really makes ink blending easier. I started with some Neenah cardstock but my brushes kept leaving streaks of color. I pulled out the Heavystock and it was smooth and easy to blend. For the Distress Oxide ink colors, I went from light to dark, 2 for each shade. Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Dried Marigold, Carved Pumpkin, Worn Lipstick, Festive Berries, Wilted Violet, Villainous Potion, Black Soot. After ink blending, I spritzed some water onto the panel and used a paper towel to lift the color.
I don't know how many of these Tim Holtz/Sizzix diesets are still available, I buy all the ones I like because I know I'll use them year after year. People say it takes too long to put these Colorize dies together but once they are assembled, you can see how special they are. Sizzix has assembly videos on their YouTube channel, which really helps. I'll list the dies I used below.
The easiest thing on this card is the Ghost Town dies, I cut from black cardstock and put yellow cardstock behind the windows for the glow.
The sentiment is from a Spellbinders Halloween set, I used copper hot foil and the BetterPress. I thought it went perfectly with the Count's expression.
That's it for today! Happy Halloween!
