Spellbinders Peony Butterfly Wax Seal

Sometimes it's hard to get the wax seal just right. I think I've found the key to a good wax seal. It takes about 4 wax beads to get enough wax down to press the entire seal. I found if you add 1 more bead, it's easier to pour. I think 4 1/2 beads is about right, which means there's a bit left over in the spoon.

I used gold wax here and then built my card around the Spellbinders "Peony Butterfly" wax seal. I wanted a background that had pattern but not something distracting. This "Leafy Helix" embossing folder seemed just right. I embossed white cardstock, cut out the center with a rectangle die. I placed a piece of gold cardstock behind it and popped up the panel.

The white stems are from "Autumn Sealed Sprigs", an older set, all these tall stems work well with wax seals. There are other long stems from Spellbinders which work equally as well.

That's it for today, supplies are linked below.
