Susanbcards: Enjoying the Process Tim Holtz Halloween Vault and Distress Spritz

Anyone who makes cards knows it's a hobby. People who don't, often say, why don't you sell them on Etsy? What do you do with all those cards? That got me thinking, why do I have to do anything with what I make? If I said I paint for a hobby would people ask me the same thing? If I liked photography? I'm really bad at sending out cards. Birthday cards? I might as well make them all belated birthday cards. Christmas cards? Oh, they are Happy New Year cards, if anything.

I make these cards because I enjoy making them. I like the creativity. Don't make me feel bad about that. I'm enjoying the journey.

So many cardmakers say they don't make Halloween cards. True, I don't think I've ever received a Halloween card. LOL. But I did make cute Halloween party invitations or decorations when my kids were little. Once I did make some cute Halloween treat bags. Ok, I made 3. Okaaaay, Sizzix asked me to use some Halloween dies 3 years ago. (How lucky am I?)

This card was for fun. I used my Distress Spritzs and the fun "Wicked", "Fright Night" and "Gothic Portrait". I spritzed many layers (Twisted Citron, Fossilized Amber, Wilted Violet) and diecut many layers, mostly from black cardstock. The metallic cardstocks are just scraps I had, the large spider is black cardstock covered with Glossy Accents.

The word, "Wicked" is cut from black mixed media paper with (Crown Me and Roar) Lunar Pastes on top.

So I pulled out all the fun toys from the toybox. I love the way this looks. The Spritz looks especailly good on black cardstock.
