The Spellbinders Stitched Holiday Tree

When my daughter was little she asked for a Barbie tree. We saw it at Target, a shocking pink tree with faux snow on the branches. The only thing that made it Barbie was that it was pink. We didn't get it but it's funny to think about now.

My tree today is sparkly and pink, it's from the "Stitched Bright" Collection from Spellbinders, I sewed the branches with silver embroidery thread. I used Spellbinders tape to secure the stitches in the back. Long stitches tend to get a bit loose but other than that, it was very easy to sew. I put gems in the garland for extra sparkle, these are old ones from Pinkfresh Studio.

The background is a cover die that is called Starshine, it adds just he right amount of interest, especially from silver cardstock. The sentiment is from last Christmas, it's called Joyful Sentiments, a hot foil plate. I used shiny gold Glimmer hot foil.
