Spellbinders Field Notes Collection

This Spellbinders "Field Notes" Collection is right up my alley. I really love the long stems, the great embossing folder and the adorable diecut tools. I think this set would also be great for a mixed media card too, I'll be trying that soon! I didn't receive the BetterPress plates or the sentiment stamps but you can see the entire colleciton HERE.

This card has the Field Notes Wildflowers, I think these stems alone are a great focal point. Look at the piece of tape-that's a diecut! The twine is also a diecut, I'll be using that one often!

I made a faux folder for the card and just adhered the diecuts. The flowers looked a bit flat so I cut the flower heads again and popped them on top of the first set. Popping up elements really takes a card to the next level. I splattered a bit of gold watercolor paint over the top and added the clear gems. Those are discontinued but I really like the way they look like water droplets.

The sentiment is a BetterPress plate that I Glimmer hot foiled in copper foil.

My 2nd card uses the embossing folder from the collection. I used a pretty piece of cardstock from Your Paper Insider's Box 10. That box is sold out but Box 11 is now available.

I used the same twine and wildflower diecuts as the first card, same sentiment set too.

My 3rd card is a bit more whimsical. I used the April BetterPress Plate of the Month for the background. The tools are from the Field Notes Collection, the sentiment from the same set. The ladybug is from one of Susan Tierney-Cockburn's floral diesets. She adds ladybugs to some of her sets as a reminder of her daughter. I thought it went nicely with the sentiment.

That's it for today, listed below are the supplies I used with clickable links. If you make a purchase using one of my links, I receive a small commission at no extra charge to you. If you do so, let me know if you would like the card that inspired you. I would be happy to mail that card to you if I still have it. Thank you!
