Susanbcards: Spellbinders Yana's Daisies

Today I'm using the BetterPress Plates from Yana's Daisies Collection. You can see the entire collection HERE.

I decided to ink the BetterPress plates and Glimmer hot foil the plates. I got the idea to use some ink blending from Yana's YouTube video. I used some Altenew ink cubes I had and they worked quite well. They were fairly new and very juicy which makes a difference when applying so much ink to the plates. These plates place ink on the background and leave the flowers white.

For the above card, I used the Altenew inks for the background and then used the stencils to place a bit of Broken China Distress Oxide ink on the petals, and Squeezed Lemonade for the centers of the flowers. I used blue Archival ink for the press plate sentiment.

For my 2nd and 3rd cards, I used Glimmer Hot foil on the plates. This was a bit more difficult to do because of the amount of coverage needed. The foil didn't adhere to a few spots but overall was pretty good. I'm usually a big fan of foiling the BetterPress plates but I think I liked the inked backgrounds better. For both cards, I used the stencils and some Spun Sugar Distress Oxide ink and added some marker near the base of the petals for dimension.

For my last card, I used the same Altenew inks as the 1st card but added some Distress Inks through a stencil. I think it came out ok but the outlines near the bottom got a bit washed out. The bottom flowers were pressed with yellow ink and the darker pink and orange inks covered the outlines.
