One of my favorite ways to use with an embossing folder is to make it look like a faux ceramic tile.
When I received this Tim Holtz Sizzix Vault Flourish embossing folder from Scrapbookcom, I just had to pull out the Distress Ink and clear embossing powder. It's not a difficult technique but it is a bit involved. I made a YouTube video tutorial you can watch here:
I lightly inked the top inside of the embossing folder with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and then ran the cardstock through my Big Shot. (Be sure to clean the embossing folder). I then removed the paper and ran a Distress and Distress Oxide Spun Sugar ink pad over the raised areas. I ran a Versamark stamp pad over the top inside of the embossing folder. I lined the paper back inside the folder and reran it.
Next, I covered the paper with clear embossing powder and melted it.
That's pretty much it, I just attached the diecuts and embellishments.
