Embossing folders are probably my favorite things to use for backgrounds. I like this Spellbinders Embossing Folder of the Month (2D) because it's just a beautiful pattern. I embossed vellum with it and I took a Staedtler white marker to fill in the white areas on the reverse side of the vellum. It just made it a brighter shade of white. I always leave an extra 1/4" at the top and the bottom so I can fold over this extra bit and attach it to the back of the paper. No glue/tape showing through the vellum! This time I forgot to leave a bit on the bottom but luckily one end was enough. I put little dots of glue behind the white marker too. It worked good enough!
The flowers are from the Jan Small Die of the Month, I used ink that was left on my brushes to color the flowers and leaves. The sentiment is from Suzanne Hue's Birthday Wishes BetterPress plate and die set. I always need birthday cards so I BetterPressed a bunch of these sentiments. I popped up the sentiment and the flower heads.
