Spellbinders just released the Poet's Garden Collection by Susan Tierney-Cockburn. You can see the entire collection by clicking HERE.
Today I'm using a dieset called, "Love in a Mist". I have never heard of these flowers but that's their real name. They are very dainty with wispy leaves.
You can see how to put together all the flowers from her collections by watching the tutorials on Spellbinders YouTube channel. I like seeing how Susan puts the flowers together and she tells a bit about the flowers.
I cut the flowers from 98 lb/160 g Canson mixed media paper that I bought at Michaels. I wanted a paper that wasn't too hard to shape, if you use a heavy cardstock it would leave bend marks. I have also used 65 lb paper to make the flowers and that works well too.
I diecut all the pieces as marked on the dies. I ink blended Distress Oxide inks in Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry, leaving some areas white. The center of the flowers are made up from 2 pieces, I colored them with a light green Copic Marker in YG11 and YG17, leaving some areas white. I used Crushed Olive and Mowed Lawn on each piece. Each leaf is cut into 2 pieces, just to make it wispy.
The sentiment is from the press plate from the collection, a series of quotes. I gold Glimmer foiled it on navy cardstock.
That's it for today. I have one more floral to make, a re-released Peony. Can't wait.
upplies are listed below with direct links to the stores that carry them (where they were in stock at the time of this writing). If you use my link to make a purchase, I receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. This really helps me continue providing information. Thank you.
