Feeling Funky! Sizzix Funky Cactus by Tim Holtz

I'm very late to the party with this one! Sizzix's Funky Cactus by Tim Holtz happened to be in stock at the Sizzix store and I decided to finally get this set. There's something so fun about Tim Holtz's diesets, just a bit quirky and always original.

For this card I dug into my shoebox of inked panels and scraps. I have a bunch ready to go in shades of green, I know I'll end up needing some for leaves and in this case, cactus. I have lots of greens, I especially love Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron. I know these cacti also have Rustic Wilderness and Lucky Clover added in.

The pots were cut from a scrap of embossed gold cardstock. I'm not sure which embossing folder it is, unfortunately. I dabbed a bit of black acrylic paint over it to give it an aged look.

For the background, I took a piece of and sprayed onto the paper. I used , , , and a few quick spritzs of in . I ran a pad over the Spellbinders Crackle Paint embossing folder to push the brown color into the cracks.

The sentiment is from Snarky Sentiment stickers by Tim Holtz. I attached it to a piece of kraft cardstock and blended Distress Gathered Twigs ink over it to darken it a bit.
