Simon Says Stamp Sunrise Stem and Your Paper Insider Box 3

I received Box 3 from Your Paper Insider, a paper subscription. Included in the box was 25 pieces of 22 different papers. They are top quality papers and at $29.95 (shipping already included!). The subscription is 4x a year, you can cancel at any time. You can also buy single boxes for $5 more, if available. I think it's quite the deal. I have a clickable link below where you can read all the faqs. it's an interesting idea. Paper is really important to a good card. I'll show some other examples of cards I made using papers from this box.

I just got the Spellbinders Glimmer hot foil machine for my birthday! So I don't have many foilable dies, I experimented with a few. I found that the Spellbinders sentiments from the Sentimental Ampersand (small die of the month for Jan 2023) works! I thought it might because the die embosses the sentiment into the paper. This set is available as a freestanding set on the Spellbinders site.

The foiling worked great. No problems at all, it must be the smoothness of the paper. I saw a Yana Smakula YT video where she partially embossed a panel after foiling the sentiment. I decided to try it. I lined up the folder (March 2023 3D folder of the month) on the portion of the panel I wanted to emboss. And like partial diecutting, I put the top plate of my Big Shot over the embossing folder, but stopping it at the edge of the folder. If you go over this edge it will leave a harsh line on the paper. It looked great when I was done.

I had a scrap of gold metallic paper in my stash, so I cut a strip to fit the card and attached it. I matted the panel onto another piece from the Your Paper Insider Box, the chartreuse cardstock. I wish you could feel how nice these papers are, so heavy! 100 lb cover.

I diecut the Simon Says Stamp "Sunrise Stem" flower from Distress Watercolor Paper and painted it with Altenew's Artists Watercolors. This set is my favorite, intensly pigmented, a little bit goes a long way. The good thing about this set is that the colors included work great for florals. I put the flower together and before putting it on my card base, I splattered it with Crystal Gold Finetec paint. Any gold metallic paint will do, I just bought this at Blick because you can buy just one square. It's expensive but again, highly pigmented and mesmerizing.

Here are 3 more cards I made using My Paper Insider paper from Box 3
