Simon Hurley's New Lunar Paste for Ranger!

Thanks to Scrapbook.com for sending me products from the latest Simon Hurley and Ranger Ink release! I love Simon Hurley's Lunar Paste and now there's the new Solar Paste! It has a milky effect, the way colors look in bright sunlight. They go on whitish and as they dry you can see the color transformation. They have the same metallic shine as Lunar Paste but are more irridescent.

They look totally different on white paper than they do on black:

Dried color swatches on white cardstock

Dried color swatches on black cardstock

For my first card, I used Simon Hurley's Photosynthesis dies for Spellbinders. I spread all the colors of Solar Paste on a piece of black cardstock using the Scrapbookcom All Purpose Scraper. and a palette knife. (Simon Hurley has a 2 piece Paste Set also). I used the palette knife to apply the Solar Paste to the Scraper in a line and just pulled it across the paper.

After it dried, I diecut the pieces from "Daffodil Frame". I cut the "Zig Zag Chevron" cover plate from black cardstock. The sentiment is from "Everyday Sentiments".

My second card uses a different technique.

This card uses Simon Hurley's "Floral Stems" dies with the "Ceramic Vases" dies. The sentiment is from the same "Everyday Sentiments" set. I diecut the flowers, vase and sentiment from the same paper as the first card, you can see how the vase has etched dots on it, the paste took the etching beautifully.

For the background, this time I used a Scrapbook.com Blending Tool with the Domed Foam Applicator. I put the Solar Paste on a scrap piece of paper and just swirled each color onto the black cardstock, wiping off the tool between colors on a damp paper towel.

One last card using Scrapbook.com's "Sunburst" coverplate and "Thank You II" sentiments

What else can you do with Solar Paste?

Applied Solar Paste to black cardstock, let DRY, then run a 3D embossing folder

Layered stencil, last layer with Solar Paste

Regular stencil on white cardstock. Solar Paste circle, sentiment stamped with Archival Ink.

Stamping with Solar Paste! I applied  a small amount Solar Paste onto a stamp with the foam domed blending too. Clean the stamp with water immediately after using.
