Lately I've been loving using the Paper Rose Studio Patterned Cardstock for card backgrounds. I used to be a bit snobby about not making some kind of background for a card but I've gotten over it. I've used it for several cards now, and it couldn't be better for hot foiling. People always complain about their hot foil results but I have found the smoother the paper the better. This paper has a shiny surface, so the hot foil is easy to adhere!
I used black foil with my Glimmer Hot Foil System and it comes out perfect every time. I didn't even have any over foiling, it could be because the plate is a letter press, so it presses the foil into the paper. Isn't the script on this Congratulations plate beautiful? Click here to see the entire Everyday Sentiments Collection. You don't really need anything else, it's very elegant on some white or ivory cardstock as well, so pretty for a wedding card.
My card is a bit informal, maybe a graduation card? So I added some inked Bold Blooms in the corner. The leaf sprigs are from another set, though. If you don't have Bold Blooms in your collection, I'd really recommend it, They come in handy and are a great size.
