Floating Frame Card Using Spellbinders Peony Celebration Dies by Yana Smakula

Here is a "floating frame" card I made using Heavyweight Acetate. I attached an outline diecut to the front and a colored diecut behind the acetate. A small note card is attached for writing a message and it acts to help the card stand up. The larger acetate card actually stands up better than the one I demonstrate in the video. It probably has something to do with physics. But I'm a cardmaker not an engineer, so I'm not quite sure why. It still stands up, though.

This was the original card that was just too much work. The embossing powder clung to the acetate and took me about 45 minutes to brush off. The foil background is quite beautiful. I'm not sure what the name of that embossing folder is but I think it's from SSS.

Below is my YouTube video tutorial if you're interested in making one of these cards. It's a real showstopper if I do say so myself. Perfect for Mother's Day. You could also use a photo on this card rather than a diecut, so many possibilities.
