Simon Says Stamp! Sunny Vibes Release! (REMAKE)

Today I'm sharing Simon Says Stamp's Sunny Vibes release. I received the"Beach Combing" stamp set. There are also matching dies and a bunch of other things that go with this set. Click on the stamp set below to see the entire collection.

It's a pretty card, very different but there were a few things I wanted to change, so here is the remake! (I didn't film the making of the first card.)
I wanted to use a 2 layer look, acetate with alcohol ink popped up on a card.

Here's the YouTube tutorial, click on it to watch:

I applied light blue alcohol ink (Cloudy Blue, Pool, a little Turquoise) and rubbing alcohol to a piece of 5.5" x 5.5" acetate. Using a Tim Holtz Air Blower tool, I moved the ink around, trying to keep the alcohol ink in a thin layer.

I took a felt blender and with a few drops of ink and blending solution and I pounced the alcohol ink. This leaves the bubbly looking ink behind. Uneven always looks better! I flipped the alcohol ink side over because it was sticky. The sticky side will face the 5.5" x 5.5" white card base.

After the ink was dry, I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside die that cuts a hilly edge. I placed it at an angle on my acetate and ran it through my Big Shot. It didn't cut the acetate all the way through (it cuts cardstock) but did leave an imprint of the hill, so I used my scissors to cut it.

Toc create surf "foam" I used white acrylic paint. This also helps the paste to stick to the acetate.

After the paint dried, I used my finger to apply the paste over it for dimension. After this dried, I applied the Glitter Paste.

I used the edge of the acetate to draw a faint pencil line on the white card so I would know where it ink blend the sand. I left the area under where I'm going to place the inked acetate white. The color looked better against white.

I used Distress Oxide Antique Linen and a little Gathered Twigs to color the sand edge.

I stamped the Simon Says Stamp "Beach Comber" shells directly onto the white card under where the "water" acetate will sit. I used the layering stamps to color the shells in.

I realized the card looked a bit better if the acetate hovered over the shells, a shaker card may have been a good idea but a big border around the edge didn't look great, so I stamped a few of the shells, colored and fussy cut them. I popped them with foam tape on the back, in a few areas of the card and then used Distress Collage Medium on the top of the shells to attach the acetate. You can't see the glue. I also used thin foam along the edge of the water, hidden by the Texture Paste. For the remake card I cut out the starfish and the sand dollar and placed them on top of the acetate. This is much easier to understand if you watch the YouTube video, above.

I took a pink fussy cut shell and applied Sticky Embossing Powder and heated it. I then immediately poured Rock Candy glitter over the shell and placed it on the sand and a bit on the water. The sentiment is from the set too.

Ok, it's not a clean and simple card but it was a lot of fun to make!
