More Ways to Use a BetterPress Plate!
The Spellbinders March 2025 BetterPress of the Month is "Quilted Memories". Most months, I use the BetterPress of the Month with the Glimmer Hot Foil machine, it looks good and there's no mess.
The gold one above is gold foil paper embossed. I then took some black acrylic paint and with a paper towel, rubbed it onto the paper, let lightly misted another paper towel and wiped it off. The paint dulls the shine of the paper and colors in the recessed areas.
For the diecut center, I used the same metallic paper and diecut the flowers and the arch. The dies are from the Large Dieset of the Month.
This month, I did ink it up:
I used my Sizzix Big Shot to emboss these papers. The sandwich I used is: The Multipurpose Platform set on 1 for embossing dies, a bottom plate, a flexible silicone mat, the paper/cardstock, the BetterPress Plate (inked or not) and a top plate.
I also used Solar Pastes on black Mixed Media Paper, inked up this BetterPress plate and embossed it.

Spellbinders 3D Embossing Folder of the Month
The March 2025 3D Embossing Folder of the Month is this gorgeous, it's called "Floral Fence of Togetherness". As always, you can join a Spellbinders club and quit at any time, you also receive some benefits as a club member, including a discount on most Spellbinders products, you can read more about it HERE.
It was pretty simple to make this card, I ink blended Distress Oxide Inks on a piece of white cardstock. The colors I used were: Kitsch Flamningo, Squeezed Lemonade, and Salvage Patina. and Broken China.
I ran it through my Sizzix Big Shot. I see lots of questions about if you need a Spellbinders machine to use their 3D embossing folders. I have found the sandwich for using it is: Sizzix Big Shot with the Multipurpose Platform on #1 (for embossing), a Silicone mat instead of a bottom plate, then the 3D embossing folder, and then a top plate. Be sure NEVER to force anything through your machine, this will break it!
After I embossed the paper took the blending brushes I had used for inking the paper and lightly ran them over the raised areas just to slightly darken it up. I felt like it needed some highlights so I took a white gel pen and made some highlights on the petals. That was it.
Listed below are the supplies I used for this project. If you use my link to make a purchase, I receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. It lets the stores know you find my content useful and lets me know I should continue sharing the details.
