Spellbinders Classic Mouse Love!

 

Another sweet add-on dieset from Spellbinders for their Steamboat Willie dieset! This collection is called Classic Mouse Love you can see the entire collection by clicking HERE.

This works with the original set (linked below) and includes a bunch of cute dies to cut out lots of love themed accessories. Don't you love the hands that fit together to make a heart?

I used the Simon Hurley stencil to make the background with Distress Oxide inks and topped some of them with Frostbite Astro Paste for shimmer.

The sentiment is Glimmer hot foiled, the press plate and matching die to cut them out are in the set. There are 2 sets of press plate sentiments for this collection, I used Classic Mouse Love Sentiments Press & Foil.

I cut an oval vellum to place behind the mice just so you could see them a bit better since the background is a bit busy.

Easy! I'm sending out lots of Valentines this year. I need to send out love into the world even if it's one card at a time.

Spellbinders Double and Single Peony by Susan Tierney-Cockburn

 

I took artistic license and decided to make my peonies blue and purple! Spellbinders re-released the very popular Double and Single Peonies by Susan Tierney-Cockburn.

I diecut all the pieces and used a sticky mat to hold the diecuts in place to ink blend them with Distress Oxide inks. I used Villianous Potion, Picked Raspberry, Prize Ribbon, Shaded Lilac and Wilted Violet, darkest in the center. The leaves are Mowed Lawn, Crushed Olive and Rustic Wilderness.

I shaped the petals and leaves with the Tim Holtz Shaping Kit. Watch Susan Tierney-Cockburns video on how to shape the pieces, it's on the Spellbinders YouTube Channel.

I Glimmer hot foiled the sentiment, it's an older one from the Through the Garden Collection and added some purple sequins from the Spellbinders Christmas Advent Calendar.

Spellbinders Love-In-A-Mist flowers by Susan Tierney-Cockburn

Spellbinders just released the Poet's Garden Collection by Susan Tierney-Cockburn. You can see the entire collection by clicking HERE.

Today I'm using a dieset called, "Love in a Mist". I have never heard of these flowers but that's their real name. They are very dainty with wispy leaves.

You can see how to put together all the flowers from her collections by watching the tutorials on Spellbinders YouTube channel. I like seeing how Susan puts the flowers together and she tells a bit about the flowers.

I cut the flowers from 98 lb/160 g Canson mixed media paper that I bought at Michaels. I wanted a paper that wasn't too hard to shape, if you use a heavy cardstock it would leave bend marks. I have also used 65 lb paper to make the flowers and that works well too.

I diecut all the pieces as marked on the dies. I ink blended Distress Oxide inks in Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry, leaving some areas white. The center of the flowers are made up from 2 pieces, I colored them with a light green Copic Marker in YG11 and YG17, leaving some areas white.  I used  Crushed Olive and Mowed Lawn on each piece. Each leaf is cut into 2 pieces, just to make it wispy.

The sentiment is from the press plate from the collection, a series of quotes. I gold Glimmer foiled it on navy cardstock.

Wild Violet and Ladybugs from the Spellbinders Poet's Garden Collection

 

I'm always happy to see a new collection from Susan Tierney-Cockburn, her flower diesets are stunning. Spellbinders just released the Poet's Garden Collection. You can see the entire collection by clicking HERE.

I diecut 2 stems and enough flowers for each of the 2 stems and then used my gel plate to hold them in place for coloring. A sticky mat would also work. I took Distress Oxide inks and a blending brush to color all the petals. I used Wilted Violet,  Picked Raspberry, Villianous Potion and Prize Ribbon for the flowers, the yellow one is Squeezed Lemonade. I took a purple marker to make the dark streaks at the last minute. I used a bronze  Liquid Pearl for the center of the flowers. You can use whatever you have, glitter, stickles, a marker. 

The leaves and stems are in shades of green Distress Oxide, Mowed Lawn, Rustic Wilderness and Crushed Olive.

The sentiment is from the same collection. I think it's lovely. I used black Glimmer hot foil to foil the press plate.

The background panel is white cardstock embossed with the Molded Frame 3D embossing folder.

Spellbinders Sending Hugs by Simon Hurley

 

Sending Hugs is a new release from Spellbinders by Simon Hurley. You can see the entire collection by clicking HERE. Each animal dieset has it's own accessories and sentiment banner dies.

My favorite one is the Darling Dog, mostly because I just love dogs and made my card to look like my dog! Plus I just love the heart headband.

For my card, I used the Puffy Hearts stencil with Distress Oxides ink shades and then embossed it with the 3D embossing folder. I love this background! 

For my Birthday Bear card, I used the dieset and made him look like a panda bear. I used Solar Pastes on black mixed media paper, let it dry. After it was completely dry, I took the puffy hearts embossing folder and ran a black ink pad over it and ran it through the diecutting machine. It makes the background slightly dark and makes the hearts stand out.

For the Congrats Cat card, I used pink Distress Oxides inks with the stencil, then sprayed each layer with Pity Party Solar Spray. The cat set also comes with a graduation cap but I used the martini glass since I don't know anyone graduating this year.

I thought each of these cards came out so fun and cute. Pretty easy!
