Spellbinders has a new collection called Turn the Page, it's a collection of memory keeping, vintage inspired products by Esther Glas. You can see the collection by clicking HERE or HERE.
There is an amazing GWP (spend $75 on this collection at Spellbinders and receive the Keepsake Clip Dieset for free, other stores have other offers). I used the clip and the paperclip dies from this set. If you're interested in it, I'd hurry, with all GWPs they tend to sell out quickly. I didn't receive the paper products, which are fabulous and vintage inspired but I did receive a few of the diesets and the embossing folder.
I decided to use the rolodex die and created this cute Halloween inspired project. It can be adhered to a card, it would fit on an A2 size, or use it for a journal. You could easily replace the ghost with a photo. There's a very cool box to hold these rolodex cards! You can see it HERE or you can see it under my supply list.
I used an piece of Distress Mixed Media Cardstock cut down to A2 size to diecut the rolodex die from the Torn Edges CardLab dieset. I sprayed it with Distress Sprays in Rusty Hinge, Peacock Feathers, Gathered Twigs and a tiny bit of Antique Linen Distress Oxide spray. Distress Oxide can easily take over a Distress Spray Stain background and make it look cloudy, so only a quick spritz. After it dried, I embossed it with the Number Field embossing folder. I lined up my panel so that the 13 would be prominent. I used some Ground Espress Archival ink and a small brush to color in the 13.
I also diecut the October label from the Torn Edges CardLab set. This set includes all the months and several label dies to choose from, see the photo under supplies. I cut it the label with the month inside from orange cardstock and just the label from brown cardstock so you could better see the word. I attached a small pieced of twine.
I cut the paperclips in gold cardstock from the GWP set. Isn't it cute? I attached some scrap of ephemera and glued it all together.
The ghost and dandelion are from some older Spellbinders products, listed under supplies.
The clipboard clip is cut from a scrap of matte gold metallic cardstock. I put some Distress Texture Paste randomly on the clip for a bit of dimension. Don't put too much or it'll flake off, I put a small amount so that it's almost flat but will be highlighted once I add the paint.
After it dried, I then took some Distress paint in Salvage Patina and put a bit on top of the Texture Paste and smeared a bit in other areas. I added a small smear of black Distress crayon and using a damp finger, moved it around the clip to age it. I did add a another clip on the back to make it sturdier.
